A Night at the Savoy – September & October

A Night at the Savoy takes guests back to 1944 for a visit to the Savoy Ballroom and performance hall in New York City, celebrating the music and performers of the swing, show and big band era. The show features the musical sounds of Victoria’s “Dock Side Drive” alongside radio personality Barry Bowman. Guests will be the studio audience ushered into a live radio broadcast, and entertained by the swinging sounds of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, The Andrew Sisters, Irving Berlin, Nat King Cole and more.

It’s Christmas – November & December

Celebrate the Christmas season with the Oak Bay Beach Hotel as they present It’s Christmas, a sparkling musical holiday revue featuring historic stories and heart warming music that are sure to fill guests with the spirit of the season!  It’s Christmas is written and produced by Matthew Howe, and features some of Victoria’s brightest rising stars.

Time Benders – January & February

Tom Watson’s Timebenders have been bringing audiences to their feet for decades, featuring cameo performances from Tina Turner, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Tom Jones and more. The Oak Bay Beach Hotel has put in a special request for Tom Watson himself to take centre stage once again, and he will be there. Guests will laugh, and dance, and maybe even shed a tear at the antics of this amazingly talented group of performers.

Tribute to Nashville – March & April

A very unique opportunity to bring a different Nashville star to the David Foster Foundation Theatre stage every weekend will bring audiences a little taste of what it is to live, work, and play in the recording capital of the world.  Buddy Greene himself has selected some of Nashville’s most renowned recording artists to join with him on stage.  Guests will likely wonder if they were somehow transported to Nashville for a few hours and undoubtedly acknowledge the incredible impact that city’s recording industry has had on cultures around the world.  The Oak Bay Beach Hotel Tribute to Nashville is the first in what is hoped to be many years of spring theatre seasons featuring artists that are living the dream and reaching for stardom.

A portion of every ticket for dinner theatre will go to the David Foster Foundation, helping Canadian families of children awaiting major organ transplants, as part of the hotel’s ten-year $2M commitment to the foundation.

Over the fall and winter, a series of Victoria, BC single evening events will also take place in the David Foster Foundation Theatre, including the season four premiere of Downton Abbey, presented in partnership with KCTS9, on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2013.

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel is Victoria’s first combination full-service spa resort and luxury residence, it is also the only commercial waterfront development in Oak Bay, set across Beach Drive from the prestigious Victoria Golf Club.
